Oaks winner Plum Pretty consigned to Keeneland November

John Fort’s Peachtree Stable’s Plum Pretty, winner of the 2011 Kentucky Oaks, will be offered for sale at the upcoming Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale as a racing/broodmare prospect. She will be consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency as agent.

The  four-year-old filly is by Darley sire Medaglia d’Oro and out of Liszy, by A.P. Indy.  The dam is out of Keeneland’s Alcibiades Stakes winner Silent Account and descends from the family of champions Sir Ivor, Menow and Alcibiades.

“From a conformational standpoint, Plum Pretty exemplifies everything you look for in a classic racehorse: size, strength, balance and great depth of shoulder to go along with her remarkable presence,” Fort said. “She has won at the highest level and still has a lot of race left in her. This is just a wonderful filly.”

“She was such a pleasure to have in the barn, winning the Kentucky Oaks and the Apple Blossom which are grade one races. She was a brilliant racehorse and has a tremendous presence about her… a real ‘wow’ factor,” said trainer Bob Baffert.

A multiple graded stakes winner, Plum Pretty won the Kentucky Oaks in a thrilling stretch duel, besting 13 other fillies. Her other victories include the Grade I Apple Blossom Stakes this year at Oaklawn Park, the Grade II Cotillion Stakes at Philadelphia Parks Racing and the Sunland Park Oaks, which she won by 25 lengths. She has accumulated more than $1.6 million in lifetime earnings, with five wins and on the board in 10 of 12 starts.

“Plum Pretty is a multiple Grade One-winning Kentucky Oaks winner that comes from one of the best families in the stud book. She has the potential to become a breed-shaping mare and we appreciate the opportunity to sell her this November,” said Duncan Taylor, President of Taylor Made Sales Agency.

“We are very fortunate to include Plum Pretty in our November sale,” said Walt Robertson, Keeneland’s Vice President of Sales. “She’s an impeccably-bred, classic winner and we are delighted to include her in our catalog.”

Keeneland’s 2012 November Breeding Stock Sale begins Tuesday, November 6.
