First foal for Curlin born at Burleson Farms

The first known foal by two-time Horse of the Year Curlin was born at Burleson Farms in Midway on January 12.

The filly is out of the Hawkster mare Zophie, dam of Grade I winner Appealing Zophie. Curlin, a son of Smart Strike, is entering his second season at stud at Will Farish’s Lane’s End Farm where he will command an advertised fee of $60,000.

    YEAH!!! What a wonderful picture. She has a sweet pie face. Let hope she has a warrior’s heart. Her daddy was a great racing fighter and brought us wonderful memories as race fans. May she carry on his spirit!
